Cymes Conservation is known for high quality conservation services with attention to detail and design flair. Our philosophy is rooted in respect for historic integrity, coupled with a desire to achieve sustainable futures for our built heritage.
Cymes provide conservation architect and heritage consultancy services for everything from individual dwellings to nationally significant projects, working with charitable trusts, local authorities and city councils, rail and infrastructure bodies, church diocese (Simon is on the approved list for the Diocese of Derby), and private clients.
Our approach is based on collaboration, innovation and meticulous attention to detail, helping our clients to achieve their desired goals within a conservation framework – preserving the past while embracing the future.
A former Chair of the IHBC Yorkshire Branch, Cymes Conservation’s Director Simon Revill has been an AABC conservation accredited architect and historic building consultant since 2004.
Over his 20 year career, Simon’s work has been recognised with Green Apple and Civic Trust Awards and used as case studies for conservation by English Heritage and Cheshire West & Chester Council.
His work has been published in industry magazines and media outlets, with his illustrations featured in multiple volumes of Historic England’s ‘Practical Building Conservation’ and their ‘Energy Efficiency and Historic Buildings’ guidance.
